Family & Friends:

Time flies when you are having fun—and we are having fun at Rosanky Baptist Church.  Now, don’t misunderstand me, everything is not easy and the devil hasn’t stopped working on us overtime.  But, you know what?  I am choosing to live in victory and not in defeat.  We serve a great and awesome God and it’s all about Him.  Keep that in mind as you are bombarded by trials, difficulties, failing circumstances and disappointments.

Over the last couple of weeks, I have been preaching a series on some important questions of life:  “How are you doing as a PERSON?”  “How are you doing as a PARTNER?” and “How are you doing as a PARENT?”  Each of the answers to those questions is critical as to how each one of us views life.  As a person, I want my life to be Christ-centered and others’ oriented.  I want to be a godly man, husband, father and grandfather (Papaw).  You see, friends, I am here to bring honor and glory to our great God and walk in fellowship with Him and the Body.

Our God reigns!  He is in control and I am going to trust Him to do what I cannot do and to be what I cannot be.  And maybe, just maybe, He can use me in some small way to make a difference.  I want to be available for Him to use me; and I want to be available to you and to those whom you love.  I am but a “nobody simply trying to exalt a Somebody.”  I am simply “one beggar trying to tell another beggar where to find Bread.”

Let’s focus together on the important things in life and not get distracted in the lesser things that, in the scope of the eternal, are virtually insignificant.  Let’s rejoice with them that rejoice and weep and sorrow with those who are hurting.  Let’s be about Kingdom work and not self-centered.  Faith is the only thing about us that will please Holy God.  So, let your faith be personal, established in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior.  Let your faith be practical, centered in service to Holy God and others.  And, then let your faith be pure from a motive of selfishness and founded in love for our Lord.

Remember the little acrostic for J-O-Y?

  J—Jesus

  O—Others

  Y—You

Put Jesus first, others next, and self last; and then, let’s go out and have some fun!  I love you and thank my God upon every remembrance of you!  See you in Sunday School and Worship!

  Pastor John

P.S.  Let’s make “Jubilee Sunday” on October 26th, our best yet!  Let’s go over the top in Sunday School and truly make it “High Attendance Sunday”!  Come and help us reach 350 in Sunday School.  WE can do it, but only if you help!
