RBC Family and Friends:

Spring is here and with it some rain and yes, some allergies.  As Job said, “Shall we not receive the bad along with the good?”  Thank the Lord for the rain and for the pollen.  With the pollen comes the newness and growth of life.  It kind of helps us refocus on the basics of life.

For several weeks now, we have tried to do just that—get back to the basics of life.  These six basics are :  #1—God is Great:  Are you rightly related to Him?  #2—Life is Short:  Are you ready to die?  #3—Sin is Serious:  Are you serious about sin?  #4—Wisdom is Essential:  Are you investing rather than spending your life?  #5—Mercy is Available:  Are you experiencing the joy of the Lord?  #6—Success is Possible:  Are you impacting your world for good and God’s glory?

My dear friends, we are praying for revival.  We must focus on the six basics mentioned above.  Someone said, “If you aim at nothing, you certainly will hit it.”  At what are you aiming; on what are you focused?  What is your passion?  Will you take the challenge that I presented to our church family—to pray 5 minutes a day for personal revival and revival corporately for our church?

April’s focus is on the Easter Story—the death, burial, and resurrection of our precious Lord.  Nothing would please the heart of our God more than for His people to humble themselves before Him, and to pray and to seek His face.  And as Holy God reveals Himself to us, may we have an overwhelming sense of the message of Easter.  As the songwriter Kurt Kaiser stated:

O, how He loves you and me.  O, how He loves you and me;

He gave His life, what more could He give?

O, how He loves you; O, how He loves me;

O, how he loves you & me!

Jesus to Calvary did go, His love for mankind to show;

What He did there brought hope from despair;

O, how He loves you;O, how He loves me;

O, how He loves you and me!

“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect (fully loyal and committed) toward Him…” 2 Chronicles 16:9a.  Are you such a person?  Remember:  it’s not about you or me; it is all about Him!  Happy “Resurrection Sunday”!  May Holy God bless you and give you a heart fully committed to Him.  See you in Bible Study and Worship.  I love you and thank my God for you, always.

  Pastor John

P.S.  Don’t forget the “Easter Sunday Celebration” on April 12th.  It’ll be GREAT!  Bring your family and friends for this wonderful day of worship and fellowship, celebrating the Resurrection of our Savior!
